Principal's Message

Welcome to “The Rock”!

I am honored to serve as the principal of Rock Quarry Elementary School, a school community with a strong tradition of excellence in academics, character, and culture. Rock Quarry proudly serves approximately 680 students in grades Pre-K through 5th grade, and each day our faculty and staff work together to create a safe, supportive, and positive environment where all children can flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.

As an educational leader, I am passionate about building a student-centered school culture where students feel known, valued, challenged, and supported. I believe every child deserves opportunities to grow not only academically, but also in confidence, leadership, compassion, and character. My focus is centered on high expectations for student learning, meaningful relationships, innovation, and partnering closely with families and the community to help every child succeed.

Rock Quarry has been recognized at the local, state, and national levels for its commitment to excellence and student achievement. In 2018, our school was named a National Blue Ribbon School, reflecting the exceptional dedication of our students, teachers, and families. During the 2020–2021 and 2024–2025 school years, Rock Quarry was also recognized by the Alabama State Legislature as one of the top 25 elementary schools in the state due to continued academic success and strong student outcomes.

In addition to academic excellence, we are deeply committed to fostering strong character and a positive school culture. During the 2024–2025 school year, Rock Quarry was recognized as a State School of Character, highlighting our intentional focus on helping students develop integrity, responsibility, leadership, compassion, and kindness in their daily lives. The touchstone at the entrance of our school serves as a meaningful reminder of our commitment to character development and community.

I am excited to continue building upon the incredible foundation already established at Rock Quarry while helping lead our school into its next chapter of growth and innovation. At Rock Quarry, we strive each day to “ROCK” as a Responsible, Outstanding, Compassionate, and Kind community.
